TED Hair Restoration

Hair restoration

Hair restoration is a growing field that allows men and women to restore thinning or lost hair. With advances in technology, the process of restoring lost hair has become easier and more accessible than ever before.

Alma TED is an ultrasound-based system that leverages acoustic sound waves to address a wide range of aesthetic applications that would benefit from improved blood flow. Our TED+ Hair Care Formula contains essential ingredients that conjunctively support optimal hair and scalp health and follicular strength. When paired with the TED+ Hair Care Formula, Alma TED helps improve the appearance of hair resulting in thicker, fuller-looking hair with increased shine and strength.

TED Hair Restoration FAQ

What Is Alma TED Hair Restoration?

Alma TED is a ground-breaking hair growth treatment that is entirely non-invasive and non-traumatic. Alma TED utilizes acoustic sound waves combined with air pressure to drive a powerful topical Hair Care Formula deep into the dermis layer of skin. It’s designed to increase blood flow to the scalp, optimize scalp health, and stimulate hair follicles to produce thicker, stronger, and healthier hair follicles.

How Can Sound Waves Help Hair Growth?

TED uses low-frequency “ultrasonic” acoustic sound waves and air pressure to drive topical hair growth treatments deep into the skin through a process called acoustic cavitation. This use of sound waves to increase the penetration of topical treatments is called sonophoresis or phonophoresis.

The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the epidermis, composed primarily of dead cells and lipids, which form the primary barrier between the body and the environment. The stratum corneum has a “brick and mortar”-like structure, which blocks the penetration of large molecules and moisture. The corneocytes are the cellular “bricks” that are “mortared” together with lipids, creating the outer barrier.

Ultrasonic sound waves at a very specific vibration or frequency cause tiny, transient gaseous bubbles within the stratum corneum to rapidly expand and collapse, disorganizing the lipid bilayer and temporarily increasing permeability. In addition, the mechanical pressure of the sound waves creates a push-and-pull effect to facilitate the delivery of compounds through the stratum corneum layer.

Through the process of Alma TED or “TransEpidermal Delivery,” we can increase the penetration of topical hair growth treatments through the top layer of skin, allowing more of the active ingredients to reach the hair follicles located below.

What Should I Expect?

Alma TED is a 20-30 minute treatment that requires no downtime and inflicts no pain. Arrive with clean hair and without hair products applied to the scalp or hair.

During your consultation, we will assess your scalp to personalize the best treatment plan for you. Most treatment plans consist of at least 3 treatments with results showing after the first treatment.

Is it Painful?

Alma Ted treatments are not painful. You can expect to feel a warm sensation from the device and a ringing sound through the course of the treatment, but there is no pain involved.

How Does Alma TED Hair Restoration Work?

Alma TED works by stimulating the scalp with low-level laser energy to promote hair growth and encourage thicker, healthier hair. It is safe, effective and can be used on different areas of the scalp for targeted treatment.

How Soon Will I See Results?

You can expect to see minor results after one Alma Ted Hair Restoration treatment, but it is recommended to have at least three treatments, one month apart, for optimal results.

Who is a Good Candidate For Alma Ted?

Alma TED was developed to be used on patients who are experiencing hair shedding, hair loss or hair thinning. In general, any person suffering from hair loss or who wants to improve the overall thickness and appearance of their hair.
